Some upcoming magazine and ezine deadlines for September and October


What better way to motivate yourself to write this autumn than a glimpse of a few  upcoming deadlines? Here are a few magazine and ezines with submission periods now open. They are also lovely to read.

Bohemyth - looking for submissions for a special Oscar Wilde themed issue - short stories, flash, one act plays and photography. See here for more details. Submit by end of September.

Wordlegs – poetry, flash and short stories – open until 30/09 - poetry, flash and short stories here

Abridged are seeking submissions of poetry for two issues: Blue 0 - 34; and Mara 0 - 13. Deadline for both is 30th September 2013. See here for more details. 

3:am - fiction submissions, deadline 30th September, details here

The Pickled Body -  poetry submissions on the theme of The Red Shoes. Deadline 30th September, here

Burning Bush 2 – mainly poetry and some flash fiction – open now until 01st October here

Skylight 47 - issue 3, poetry, deadline 01st October 2013, send up to 4 poems (max 40 lines each) with a short bio to skylightpoets47@gmail.com Unpublished poems only, send by attachment and in the body of the email. 

The Letters Page - edited by Jon McGregor. Issue 2 The Penpal Issue - wants handwritten letters on one side of one A4 page - deadline 16th October. See here

TheSouth Circular - short stories, deadline 21st October. See here

I'll maybe sneak this one in too since it's a 01st November deadline - The Linnet's Wings - publishes poetry, flash, micros, short story and creative non-fiction. See details here
